UAE President Extends Heartfelt Congratulations to Kuwait on National Day

Abu Dhabi, UAE – On February 25, 2025, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) joined in the celebrations of Kuwait's 64th National Day, reflecting the deep-rooted brotherly and strategic ties between the two nations.

Leadership's Warm Wishes

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed his sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, and the Kuwaiti people. In a message shared on social media, Sheikh Mohamed stated:

"Sincere congratulations to my brother Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the people of Kuwait on the occasion of their National Day. The UAE and Kuwait share a longstanding bond of friendship, and we look forward to further strengthening these ties for the benefit of our people." 

 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, also extended his heartfelt congratulations, emphasizing the shared history and future between the two nations. He remarked:

"We are bound to Kuwait by brotherhood, love, history, and future. May God protect Kuwait and perpetuate its glory and honor." 

 

 

Celebrations Across the UAE

In honor of Kuwait's National Day, the UAE organized various celebratory events, including:

  • Landmark Illuminations: Prominent landmarks across the UAE were illuminated with the Kuwaiti flag colors, symbolizing unity and shared joy.

  • Cultural Events: Festivals and cultural programs were held, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of both nations.

  • Educational Initiatives: Schools and universities conducted special sessions to educate students about the historical ties and mutual cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait.

A History of Strong Bilateral Relations

The UAE and Kuwait have long enjoyed a robust relationship characterized by:

  • Diplomatic Ties: Kuwait was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the UAE post its formation in 1971. 

  • Economic Cooperation: In 2024, non-oil bilateral trade between the two nations reached approximately AED 50 billion, marking a 9% increase from the previous year. 

  • Cultural Exchange: Both countries have engaged in numerous cultural collaborations, with over 1,725 Kuwaiti students enrolled in UAE universities, reflecting strong educational ties.
