Ithra Celebrates 70 Years of Japan-Saudi Relations with Classic Japanese Car Exhibition

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran is hosting a special Classic Japanese Car Exhibition as part of its Japan Cultural Days, commemorating seven decades of diplomatic ties between Japan and Saudi Arabia. Running from February 6 to 8, 2025, the exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of Japanese automotive design and technology.

The showcase features 13 vehicles, ranging from vintage classics to modern concept cars, many of which are on loan from private collectors in Qatif. Set in Ithra's Energy Exhibit area, the display provides an engaging environment for car enthusiasts and the general public alike.

Maha Abdulhadi, Creative Programs Specialist at Ithra, emphasized the exhibition's significance:

"With help from Japanese classic car enthusiasts Ali Aldhamin and Nazar Alqlaf, we curated this display to showcase a broad range of vehicles that represent a significant chapter in the history of the Japanese car industry, which is highly appreciated in Saudi Arabia."

The exhibition is open daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., offering attendees an immersive experience into Japan's rich automotive heritage. This event not only highlights the enduring friendship between Japan and Saudi Arabia but also underscores the cultural exchange and mutual appreciation that have flourished over the past 70 years.
