As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched its annual Ramadan donation campaign, focusing on supporting underprivileged communities in the UAE and beyond. The initiative aims to provide food, clothing, and essential aid to families, refugees, and disaster-affected regions, reinforcing Dubai’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian efforts.
A Spirit of Giving: Key Initiatives of the ERC Ramadan Campaign
Ramadan is a time for compassion, generosity, and social responsibility, and ERC is mobilizing donations and volunteer efforts to ensure that thousands of people receive the necessary support during the sacred month.
This year’s campaign includes:
Iftar Meals & Food Baskets – Thousands of Iftar meal packages and Ramadan food baskets will be distributed across low-income communities in the UAE and other countries.
Aid for Gaza & Global Humanitarian Relief – Special assistance is being sent to war-affected regions, including Gaza, Yemen, Syria, and Sudan, providing food supplies, medical aid, and emergency relief.
Eid Clothing Donations – The campaign includes a clothing initiative to help children and families celebrate Eid with dignity, ensuring they receive new garments for the festive occasion.
Zakat and General Charity Contributions – Residents and businesses in the UAE are encouraged to donate their Zakat, which will be directed towards families in dire need of financial support.
How to Donate & Get Involved
The Emirates Red Crescent is making it easy for the UAE community to contribute to the Ramadan campaign through multiple channels:
Online Donations – Contributions can be made through the official ERC website and mobile app.
SMS Giving – Donors can send SMS messages to support specific humanitarian programs.
Charity Kiosks – ERC donation kiosks are set up across malls, mosques, and community centers for direct contributions.
Volunteer Opportunities – UAE residents can actively participate by volunteering for meal packaging, food distribution, and donation collection efforts.
Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, emphasized the importance of community engagement, stating:
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, unity, and generosity. Through this initiative, we aim to extend our support to those facing hardship, ensuring that families across the UAE and beyond can experience the blessings of this holy month.”
Dubai’s Commitment to Humanitarian Efforts
The UAE has long been recognized for its global leadership in humanitarian aid, and the ERC’s Ramadan initiative is a testament to this commitment. With ongoing crises in various parts of the world, the UAE’s philanthropic efforts continue to make a significant impact on international relief programs.
This initiative not only provides critical support to those in need but also encourages the spirit of giving within the community, making Ramadan a time of hope, kindness, and collective generosity.
