8 Injured After Driver Crashes SUV Into CarMax Dealership in Inglewood

A routine car appraisal at a CarMax dealership in Inglewood took a violent turn when an agitated customer intentionally drove his SUV through the showroom, injuring eight people. The incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. on South La Cienega Boulevard, sent employees and customers scrambling for safety.

Surveillance footage shows the vehicle smashing through the glass entrance before speeding through the showroom and exiting on the opposite side. Witnesses described scenes of panic as people attempted to dodge the oncoming vehicle.

“I actually saw the car run over several people,” one bystander recounted. “A sales representative’s hand got crushed—it was terrifying.”

Authorities confirmed that two victims sustained critical injuries, while six others were treated for minor wounds. Emergency responders arrived quickly, and all injured individuals were transported to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition.

The driver, who fled the scene after the crash, was apprehended about a mile away by Inglewood police. His identity has not yet been released, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.

CarMax issued a statement expressing deep concern for those affected, stating that the safety of employees, customers, and the community remains their top priority.

Initial reports suggested an active shooter situation due to the chaos, but police later confirmed it was a deliberate vehicle attack. Authorities are now reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the exact motives behind the incident.
